The Alpine School District will ask residents to vote April 28 on a 2-mill property-tax increase and a $30 million bond to build two new junior high schools. The district needs the new schools because it no longer can address its overcrowding problem with portable classrooms and alternative scheduling. The schools would be built in north American Fork or Highland and in the Lindon/north Orem areas.
