DEATH: HAROLD "BILL" CANNON

Harold "Bill" Cannon, age 89, died Sunday, March 15, 1992, at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 14, 1903 in St. George, Utah, a son of David Henry and Rhoda Knell Cannon. He married Fern Jones on January 3, 1924 in St. George, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. She died on March 6, 1986.Bill was the last born of a family of 32 children. He was also the last surviving member of the that family. He was reared and educated in St. George. Other than working in Henderson, Nevada during World War II, he lived his entire life in St. George. Bill spent his early years farming, but was best known as a cook at the Big Hand Cafe, which is where Ancestor Square is located now. He loved to fish and share the fruits of his beautiful garden. He as a member of the LDS Church, residing in the St. George Second Ward.

Survivors include his three sons, Harold Cannon, Jr. of Orem; Robert K. Cannon, Murray; and Fred J. Cannon, St. George; one daughter, Mrs. James (Colleen) Pendleton of Rancho Cucamonga, California; nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Joseph J. Cannon and Gary Joel Cannon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 1992 at 11 a.m. at the St. George Second Ward Chapel, 166 South Main. Friends may call at the Spilsbury-Desert Rose Mortuary Wed. eve. from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the St. George City Cemetery.
