Four area residents have accepted appointments to the Utah Valley Regional Medical and Orem Community Hospital Governing Board. Robert J. Parsons has been chairman of the department of managerial economics, associate dean of the Marriott School of Management and director of the master in health administration program at Brigham Young University. Kay A. Lindsay obtained her law degree from the University of Utah and practices with the law firm of Taylor, Moody and Thorne in Provo. In 1991 she was the commissioner of the Provo City Housing Authority Board. Dr. Richard C. Brown is medical director over radiation and oncology at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He is past president of the center's medical staff and also a member of the medical staff board. Dr. Thomas R.R. Carn is a family practitioner at the Wasatch Medical Clinic in Orem. He belongs to the Academy of Physicians and was the medical staff president for Orem Community Hospital in 1991. John C. Petersen has been named community relations manager at Nu Skin International. He is responsible for developing the company's corporate relations in the local community and for advising Nu Skin independent distributors on community relations activities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Kelvin C. Clayton has been appointed to the National League of Cities Human Development Steering Committee. He will serve this year as a steering committee member of the human development policy committee of the National League of Cities.
