DEATH: BYRON "CURLEY" JENSEN

Byron D. "Curley" Jensen, age 84, died Wednesday, March 18, 1992 in the Pioneer Care Center.

He was born November 6, 1907 in Ogden, Utah to Lars and Dorthea Jansen Jensen. He married Eliza Pledger August 30, 1930 in Evanston, Wyoming; marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in High Priest presidency in Bountiful and Brigham City. He worked with alcoholics for the LDS Church. He and his wife filled an LDS mission in the Boston Massachusetts Mission. He was Director of Brigham City Genealogy Library.He was an Eagle Scout and had served on the Eagle Board of Review, and as a Merit Badge Counselor. He helped organize the Western Boys Baseball Assoc. He ran for State Senate while living in Bountiful and Salt Lake City.

He had 50 years of service with Union Pacific Railroad.

Surviving are his wife of Brigham City; four sons and four daughters, Donald A. Jensen, Ogden; Louis B. Jensen, Alaska; LeRoy M. Jensen, West Valley City; Thomas L. Jensen, Syracuse;

Caroline D. Rule, Murray; Geraldine McGaha and Kathleen Aston, both of Brigham City; and

Beverly Pledger, Bountiful; also survived by 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Donna) Bushnell, Ogden. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Monday, 1 p.m., at the Bountiful 18th Ward Chapel, 165 South 1000 East, with Bishop Milton Russon officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, and Monday at the church, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
