ST. GEORGE MAN FACES TRIAL ON SEX CHARGES

A St. George man accused of taking photographs of nude and partially clothed girls has been bound over to district court on five felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Fifth District Court Commissioner Marlynn Lema ordered Joseph L. Michael to stand trial in the higher court following a preliminary hearing Wednesday.During the hearing, Washington County Deputy Attorney Brent Langston presented numerous photos to the court of girls ranging in age from 3 to 12.

Michael, 52, was arrested on the charges Feb. 20 following a seven-month investigation that started when a local film processor reported questionable photographs to police.

Michael will enter a plea Wednesday before 5th District Judge James Shumate.
