LIANG PERFECT ON POMMEL HORSE

Despite Liang Jing Wei's perfect score on the pommel horse and first-place finish in the all-around, BYU's men's gymnastics team lost its first dual meet of the year Saturday to Penn State, 283.50 to 281.65.

Liang, the Cougar All-American from Beijing, China, received a perfect score on his first attempt and a 9.9 on his second to finish with a 9.95 average on the pommel horse. Overall, Liang led all participants with a 57.80 score. BYU owns a 5-1 dual meet record heading into next weekend's WAC Championships to be held in Provo.
