Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Hortense "Stans" Huffenreuter Pluim Mentz Gorter, age 80, passed away peacefully March 22, 1992, at the home of her daughter in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hortense was born October 1, 1911, in Soemedang, Indonesia, the daughter of Adolf L. and Hortense Quartero Huffenreuter. Widow of Pieter David Pluim Mentz and Hans Gorter. A vivacious petite woman, she touched many lives with her laughter, her generosity and love of life. She loved people and everything beautiful.Her childlike enthusiasm for life will always be remembered by her loved-ones, friends and children; A. L. Jordain Pluim Mentz, New Zealand; Betty and Robert L. Abramson, Calif.; Stance and John M. Coomans, Salt Lake City; David P. T. Pluim Mentz, The Netherlands; 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and those who cared for her during her illness, Carol, Louise, Carrie and Cor.

Funeral services Thursday, March 26, 12:30 p.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, where friends may call from 12-12:30. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
