Former Salt Lake attorney Sidney Neff Cornwall, 89, died March 19, 1992, in Salt Lake City.
Mr. Cornwall was a partner in the Salt Lake law firm VanCott Bagley Cornwall & McCarthy.A Granite High School graduate, Mr. Cornwall attended the University of Utah where he obtained a bachelor degree in history and political science. He earned a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1926.
From 1946 to 1969, Mr. Cornwall as a partner and then general manager of VanCott Bagley Cornwall & McCarthy. He did regulatory work for the Public Service Commission and represented Mountain Bell, as well as helping the firm with legal work involving railroads, and mining, oil and gas interests.
He sat on the board of directors of many companies, including United Park City Mines and Coca-Cola.
After retirement, Mr. Cornwall enjoyed gardening and writing books on family histories.
Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday, March 24, in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive. Interment was at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
