DEATH: DEAN L. SMITH

Dean Leon Smith, our dear and loving husband and father, 76, died March 23, 1992, at his home in American Fork.

Born September 17, 1915 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Leon M. and Genevieve Thorne Smith. He married Theresa Mitchell Jan. 16, 1941; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a prominent and dedicated businessman, owning and operating his business for forty years in Pleasant Grove and American Fork. He enjoyed the association with his customers and many choice friends. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre. He worked for the Alpine School District ten years before retiring. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He was an avid sports fan.He is survived by his wife, of American Fork; a daughter and two sons, Sharlene and husband, Dewey Steele; Dean M. and wife, Jackie Smith, all of American Fork; Dennis R. and his wife, Wendy Smith, Highland; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon E. Smith, Pleasant Grove; Reed M. Smith, LaJolla, Calif.

Funeral Services will be Friday, 2 p.m. in the American Fork 8th Ward, 310 North 100 East. Friends may call at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the Church one hour prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery. Military honors by VFW, District 4.
