George Allen Leaming, co-founder and chairman of the board of the Clark Leaming Co., died March 22, 1992, at his Salt Lake home of a respiratory disease.
Mr. Leaming was born in Moab to Jonathan Tripler and Gladys Merling Leaming. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics at the University of Utah in 1941. He also attended Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School. He married Merline Clark in 1941.Mr. Leaming served as a lieutenant in the Navy Supply Corps from 1943-1946 and was stationed in the South Pacific.
He founded the interior design firm Clark Leaming Co. in 1952 with his wife and her brother, Howard Clark.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 27, at 5 p.m. in the White Chapel, 300 N. 150 East.
