Critics have described the sound of the Bulgarian State Female Choir as "the most beautiful music on the planet" and "the best music of the millenium." This group, characterized by unusual harmonies and infectious rhythms, will perform Tuesday, March 31, at 8 p.m. in Symphony Hall.
Their album, "Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares" created a sensation when it was first released four years ago. Twenty-four women from a little-known region of the Balkan Peninsula were suddenly "going gold" - selling out appearances at jazz festivals, rock concerts and theaters.Tickets are $18, $16 and $14 at Symphony Hall. Call 533-NOTE for reservations.
