"County Government Week" will be observed April 5-11 with tours of facilities, recycling efforts, health screening, a food drive and other activities.- All 16 county libraries, 14 fire stations, 10 senior centers and eight recreation centers will collect donations for the Utah Food Bank. Also, on Friday, April 10, library patrons can exchange non-perishable food items for a $4 reduction in fines accrued this year.

- A visual arts contest will feature exhibits that portray county services, with winning entries receiving prizes during the commission meeting on Wednesday, April 8.

- Health Day is Monday, April 6. Holy Cross Hospital will offer mammograms for $55 in the government center's medical assessment clinic room. For an appointment, call 468-2800. Also, Health Department personnel will offer vision, hearing, blood pressure and cholesterol tests from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

- Citizens are invited to tour the new Oxbow Jail at 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 8. Admission is a can of food for the food bank, payable at the door. Reservations are preferred and may be made by calling 468-3614.
