A man with an electric stun gun was arrested at the Salt Lake International Airport about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
A Salt Lake Police report said a 31-year-old Ogden man was detained when the stun gun was discovered in a backpack undergoing X-ray screening at the airport.The man told police he knew the stun gun was in the pack but did not know it was illegal to carry the weapon through the airport's secured area. FBI and Federal Aviation Administration representatives interviewed the man at the airport.
The FBI declined to prosecute, but FAA officials requested the incident be prosecuted. The man, who was at the airport to pick up an arriving passenger, was cited and released. The stun gun was seized and put into evidence.
