NFL CELEBRITY SKI RACE ON TAP AT SNOWBIRD

Steve Young will replace his cleats with skis Friday and Saturday to chair the 6th annual NFL Celebrity Ski Race at Snowbird to benefit Snowbird's Handicap Ski Foundation.

Young, reserve quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, heads a list of NFL players involved in the event. Among them are Harris Barton and Bill Musgrave, both of the 49ers; Lee Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals; Guy Bingham of the Atlanta Falcons; and Jason Buck of the Washington Redskins.An autograph party is scheduled tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Cottonwood Room at Snowbird. Admission is $5.

The celebrity race will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Corporate groups (4 members), an NFL player and a handicapped skier will comprise the various teams. From 2 to 4 p.m. skiers will be able to challenge one of the celebrity players in a dual side-by-side race with a $10 donation to the foundation.

A dinner and auction is planned Saturday evening. Cost is $75 and includes dinner and admission to the auction. For information call 521-6040, extension 4080.
