Sun International Pictures has chosen Utah as the site for its corporate and production headquarters.
During a joint news conference with the Utah Film Commission Wednesday, Sun International Chairman Charles Sellier said the decision was a credit to the state and its people.UFC Director Leigh von der Esch estimated Sun International will create at least 80-100 new jobs, but more importantly it will enhance the state's filmmaking reputation.
"The selection of Utah by Sun International for their headquarters will enable us to add to our continuously growing film industry infrastructure," she said.
Sun International first two projects will be for CBS. A one-hour special, "Miracles and Other Wonders," begins shooting next week. It will be followed by "Ancient Secrets of the Bible," a two-hour TV movie scheduled for May.
