A.F. KEEPING CAUSE OF FEB. 6 CRASH SECRET

The Air Force is keeping secret the probable cause of the crash last month of a military transport plane into a motel and restaurant complex near Evansville, Ind., that took 16 lives.

The Air Force said that although it determines a probable cause of all military aviation crashes, it does not release the findings "for any other reason than accident prevention."An Air Force accident report made public Thursday does not address the cause of the Feb. 6 crash that killed all five Kentucky Air National Guard crew members on board the plane and 11 people on the ground.

But it does rule out weather, mechanical problems, maintenance, air traffic control, communications factors, human fatigue, drugs and alcohol.
