Donald Harris Sims died March 25, 1992 at home with family from emphysema.

"I was born on June 20, 1921 to wonderful parents, Norman and Mildred Sims in Ogden, Utah. When I was young we moved to Salt Lake City and opened SIMS STETSON HAT STORE on Main Street. I never remember not working in my dad's hat store. I graduated from East High School, attended Westminster College and the University of Utah. I joined the army during World War II and served over seas. I have always been an active member of the First United Methodist Church.""On April 1, 1948 I married my only love, Bette Harkness Sims. From our love we raised four beautiful children, Donnetta Sims Davis, Dennise Sims Hewlett, Dianne Sims Dearth and Norman D. Sims. From these unions I have enjoyed their spouses, Phil, Brent, Don and Paula and have six fun grandchildren, Jennica Sims Davis, Hatty and Hart Hewlett and Tucker Rountree, Cassie and Jessica Dearth."

"I have always enjoyed the friends I have gained through memberships in the Elks, Mason's, Shriner's, American Legion and S.L. Chamber of Commerce. Due to health problems, I closed the "Sims Hat Store".

"I ask God to bless and protect Bette and my family until we can be together once again."

"In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Utah Lung Association or to your favorite charity. Thanks, Don."
