Tunney was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on March 25, 1992 at the age of 60.

He was born on October 29, 1931 in Millcreek, Illinois, the son of Chester and Eunice Jordan.He was the beloved husband of Delores Jordan for 39 years and father of Tunney Ray, Davenport, Iowa; Celeste Langford, Hooper; Kevin, Layton; Delores M. Laplant, Ogden; David, Layton; grandfather of 12; also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Barbara, Hammond, Ind.; Paula, Texas; Jesse, Ark.; William, Mississippi.

Preceded in death by sister, Angela and brother, Virgil.

Tunney graduated from the Illinois School for the Blind in 1952. He graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 1966, and went on to earn a degree in computer sciences from Weber State. He was employed by the Federal Bureau of Reclamation in Salt Lake City. He also was an instructor in computer classes.

He was an active member of the St. James Catholic Church in Ogden and a powerful reader of the Word. He was involved in scouting most of his life.

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, 495 North Harrison Blvd., with Father Wiliam H. Flegge officiating. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., Sunday from 6-8 p.m. with Vigil service at 8 p.m. Committal services, Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael, California.
