Mary Yvonne Frances Downard, age 71, and Leo Warren Downard, age 69, (previously of Price), both died March 21, 1992 at their home.

Mary was born October 2, 1920, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frederick Moorby and Lillian Kae Hazeltine Moorby. She grew up in Pittsburgh and attended schools there. She attended two years of bookkeeping school. She lived in Lima, Ohio for 16 years and moved to Idaho Falls 22 years ago.She married Leo Warren Downard February 13, 1953 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother and had worked as a bookkeeper.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, where she served in the Primary, in Scouting, and in genealogy work. She was a compassionate and loving friend, and wonderful mother to three boys. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and gardening.

Leo was born January 18, 1923 in Price, Utah, the son of George Leo Downard and Ida Warren Downard. He grew up in Price and attended schools there. He graduated from Carbon Junior College and the University of Utah. He moved to Lima, Ohio in 1954 and came to Ammon 22 years ago.

He married Mary Yvonne Frances Moorby, February 13, 1953 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an electrical engineer and quality control engineer for E.G.&G. Idaho, before he retired. He was an active member of the LDS Church, where he had served in the Bishopric, as scout leader and in genealogy. He enjoyed woodworking, flowers, gardening, and general handy work around the home. He was a home builder, concerned husband, father, and friend.

Surviving both are; three sons, Frederick George Downard, of San Jose, Calif.; Robert Warren Downard, Twin Falls, Idaho; Brian Clark Downard, Utah; seven grandchildren.

She is survived by brothers, Mervin Moorby, Ralph Moorby, both Pittsburgh; sisters, Jane Olsen, Pasco, Wash.; Janet Hayes, San Diego. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Moorby.

He is survived by brothers, Robert Downard, of Orem, Utah; and Glen Elwood Downard, Price, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 1992, 11 a.m. at the Ammon LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 3000 Central Ave., with Bishop Gerald Mortimer officiating. Visitation will be Monday 7-9 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Interment, Price City Cemetery, Price, Utah. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls.
