Y. WOMEN WIN IN ARIZONA

Despite winning just four of 17 events, depth throughout the roster carried BYU's women tracksters to a team victory at the Arizona State Invitational at the Sun Devil Track Stadium Friday and Saturday.

The Cougars collected 146 points, Washington 123.5, Arizona State 123, Baylor 85.5, Oklahoma 59, Northern Arizona 57 and Texas Christian 33.For BYU, the highlight of the meet was the NCAA provisional qualifying time and new school record in the 4x100m relay set by Brooke Stanton, Shu-Hwa Wang, Anu Kaljurand and Cathie Guischard.

The foursome burned the track in 45.26 to erase a six-year-old record of 45.51 held by Lori Richardson, Gina Bradford, Angela Bridgeman and Margie Milligan ( May 10, 1986).
