LOW-FAT FISH FILLETS LURE CONSUMERS WITH LIGHTER BATTERS

The National Fisheries Institute says Americans can look forward to lower-fat breaded fish sticks and fillets with lighter batters.

A 3-ounce portion of the lower-fat products will contain 3 grams of fat, compared with 11 grams of fat for regular breaded fish sticks and fillets.The National Fisheries Institute says the seafood industry will also be developing more microwavable frozen dinners and ready-to-eat seafoods such as surimi seafood, as well as more products for kids, including breaded fish products in starfish, sea horse and other fun shapes.
