Two men beat a Magna man with a rake in the driveway of his home Sunday at 2 a.m.

Michael Martinez told sheriff's deputies that the two men were trying to kill him because of an argument. One man held Martinez down while the other man hit him on the face, head and neck with a garden rake, a sheriff's report said.A neighbor of Martinez's said he heard the scuffle and broke up the fight. Both suspects ran away, leaving behind the motorcycle they had been driving. One suspect was found hiding in a neighbor's shed, and police arrested him Sunday morning.

The man says he was trying to break up the fight and says he doesn't know the man who hit Martinez with the rake. Martinez was transported to Pioneer Valley Hospital to be treated for puncture wounds to his face, throat and a shoulders. Police are searching for the second suspect.
