In a 60th birthday celebration, the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Australia was closed to traffic for the first time since its opening, and the public was allowed to walk across, filling up all traffic lanes. An estimated 300,000 made the walk and created gridlock during the festivities. One of the world's longest steel arch bridges, the Sydney Harbor Bridge has a main span of 1,670 feet.
