2 WHO ARE SOUGHT IN TEXAS SLAYING ARRESTED IN S.L.

Two men wanted in connection with an El Paso homicide were arrested in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

William S. Morris, 34, and Dale E. Nichols, 38, were arrested following a weeklong search of area transient camps, said Salt Lake Sheriff's Lt. Dave Bishop. The search started after Deputy Sheriff Kevin Matthews learned Morris had sold aluminum cans to a recycling company in downtown Salt Lake, Bishop said. Deputies arrested a man using Morris' identity last week. The man had a .25-caliber pistol in his possession when arrested. He was later released after police determined he was not Morris.

Joined by Detective Darren Carr, Matthews continued the search, which culminated in Morris' arrest Sunday near the intersection of 500 West and 500 South. Bishop said Morris provided deputies with information that led to Nichols' arrest a short time later.

Both are being held in the Salt Lake County Jail on homicide warrants issued by El Paso police.
