SUU BEGINS TELECOURSE IN GEOLOGY TODAY AT 8 P.M.

Residents of St. George, Washington and Cedar City can take "Introduction to Geology" from Southern Utah University spring quarter without having to leave their living rooms.

The course will be offered beginning today and will air on KULC-TV Tuesdays from 8-10 p.m. and Thursdays from 8-9 p.m.The geology telecourse is being offered through SUU's Division of Continuing Education and utilizes the PBS course "Earth Revealed" as its core. Richard Kennedy, professor of geology at SUU, has produced seven "lab sessions" to accompany the programming. The class can also be taken as a correspondence course by people in living areas that do not receive KULC-TV.

KULC-TV broadcasts on the UHF bandwave in southern Utah through a translator. The station can be received on channels 16 and 24 in Cedar City, channels 14 and 21 in St. George and channel 21 in Washington. For more information, call 586-5481.
