Craig Neilson Smith, age 64, died March 29, 1992, from complications following surgery at the St. Mark's hospital.

Born December 14, 1927 in Cowley, Wyoming to Russell W. and Amy Neilson Smith. He graduated from Cowley High School in 1946. Craig married Thressa Lindsay, January 15, 1947, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was employed by the Ohio Oil Company in Lovell, Wyoming for 13 years. They came to Utah and the Murray area for one year then found the little town of Midvale, where they decided to make their home. Craig was a carpenter by trade, receiving his training through the LDS Church Building Program. He has built three homes for his family, all in Midvale and has had many opportunities to use his labor on homes, church, schools, etc. throughout the community. He has been employed by the Murray School District for the last 8-9 years and worked for the Jordan School District for two years prior to that.Survivors: wife, Thressa, Midvale; children, Craig L. Smith; David L. and Julie Smith; Todd L. and Cristy Smith, all Midvale; Jennifer S. Heap, Folsom, Calif.; Lori Smith, Murray; Shauna S. and Curtis Oneida, Sandy; Reed L. Smith, Delta; 24 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; mom, Margaret; brothers and sisters, Metz and Thelma Smith, Greybull, Wyo.; Larry and Donna Smith, Orem; Karma Smith, Salt Lake City; Claudette and Kent Hansen, Billings, Mont.; Doris and Curly Dalton, Fort Bragg, Calif.; Janet Winter, Powell, Wyo. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.

Funeral services Wednesday, April 1, 1992,

11 a.m. in the Midvale 3rd and 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 75 Olympus St. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial, Midvale City Cemetery.
