West Valley City

Lights: The City Council will discuss a proposal to install street lights citywide at a cost of $433,000, to be financed with a property-tax increase.

Graffiti: The council also will consider a graffiti-removal program modeled after Salt Lake City's, with the $20,000 cost financed by federal and local funding sources.

When: 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5.

Sandy

Water dispute: Sandy city officials will host a meeting to discuss the city's bid to take over the White City Water Co. White City Community Council members, who oppose the move, are expected to attend along with Sandy residents who also use the system.

When: 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4.

Where: The Hirschi Center, 9825 S. 1300 East.

Kearns

Safety concerns: A state traffic engineer met with the Kearns Town Council on Tuesday night in an attempt to quiet residents' concerns that some streets are unsafe for students and other pedestrians. (See story on Page B3.)
