Local employers are expressing optimism regarding hiring plans this spring, according to results of the newest Employment Outlook Survey for the second quarter of 1992.

The survey was conducted by Manpower Inc.The area hiring forecast indicates that 40 percent of responding companies they will add workers in the three-month period ending June 30. Only 3 percent anticipate decreases in staffing levels, while 57 percent expect to make no adjustments.

The springtime outlook appears most promising in durable goods manufacturing, wholesale/retail trade, education, services and public administration.
