REACHING FOR A NATURAL HIGH

Jason Cuch, an elder from the Ute Tribe, looks over a conference schedule with students attending "Reach for a Natural High," a life-skills conference sponsored by the Utah Federation for a Drug Free Youth. Thousands of Utah students gathered at the Salt Palace Thursday for the start of the three-day anti-drug conference. During his remarks, Gov. Norm Bangerter emphasized the importance of multicultural perspectives. His wife, Colleen, called "prevention the key" to ending drug abuse. Tim Ross, TV weatherman, recounted embarrassing moments that formed his belief that self-esteem is a basic need. "Just do the best you can and go on with your life," he advised.
