Former Days of '47 associate, Heber J. Whitesides, 78, died March 4, 1992, in Layton.

Mr. Whitesides belonged to the parade association for 20 years, where he was chairman of the rodeo for 10 years. He was associated with the Ogden Livestock shows, vice president of the Utah Angus Association and executive director of the Layton Chamber of Commerce.Mr. Whitesides was an Honorary First Sergeant at Hill Air Force Base and was well acquainted with many governors in the western United States.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, in the Layton 24th LDS Ward, 2435 E. 1500 North. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lindquist's Lay-ton Mortuary, 1074 N. Fairfield Road, and at the church on Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
