On this day the fight ended and peace was achieved. For over 20 years, she waged a vigorous struggle and now she has the tranquility earned from a job well done. Luella "Jean" Simpson Stanton, age 58, died Friday, March 6, 1992 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

She was born September 22, 1933 in Smithfield, Utah, the daughter of Clifford Robert and Luella Weeks Simpson.She is survived by her children, Brooki J. Sexton, Julie and Joe Leigh, Joe and Teresa Stanton, 14 grandchildren, a brother, Robert Simpson, of Smithfield; and numerous foster children, who will feel her absence. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Jerry Stanton, and by a grandson, Joshua Leigh. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Joyce, and the U.M.C. Nursing Staff for their kindness and compassion during a very difficult time. Mom, we love you and we will always miss you.

Funeral services will be held, 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 1992 at the Smithfield 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 79 East 200 South. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Smithfield 3rd Ward on Wednesday from 12-12:45 p.m. Burial, Smithfield City Cemetery.
