Arlene Parkin Holbrook age 83, a kind and gentle soul who has gone to join her beloved Leo, died Saturday, March 7, 1992 at the home of a daughter in Sandy, Utah.

She was born May 23, 1908 in Woods Cross, to Ulysses H. and Ruby Pack Parkin.She married Leo Sturton Holbrook November 14, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and moved to Bountiful. He died June 28, 1969. They had six children, Clarence P. Holbrook, Centerville, Stanley P. Holbrook, Bountiful; Robert P. Holbrook, Bountiful; Joyce H. Thomas, Bountiful; Janette H.Sedgwick, Sandy; and Larry P. Holbrook, North Salt Lake. She is survived by 31 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters LeRoy and Newell; Ruby and Leone, preceded in death by brothers Lawrence, Herbert and Alvin

She and her husband were active in community affairs, civic clubs and their church. They were both past presidents of the Lions and Lady Lions. While a member of the Bountiful Professional Women's Club, she was presented with the "Woman of the Year Award." Since the age of 12 she has loved music. She has been an active member in the LDS Church, having served as organist in all church organizations, including being called to the position of ward organist for the Bountiful First Ward. She has been an active Relief Society visiting teacher for over 35 years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 1992 at 12:00 noon in the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 South Main. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary Chapel, 295 North Main and Tuesday at the Church 10:45 a.m.-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
