COUGAR NETTERS TO HOST NO. 1 FLORIDA

The top women's tennis team in the nation will be showcased at BYU's indoor courts Tuesday afternoon in the first of three matches hosted by the Cougars this week.

The undefeated University of Florida Gators, ranked No. 1 on the Volvo chart, swept through the ITCA national team championships last week with victories over No. 8 California, No. 10 Miami, No. 4 UCLA and No. 5 Stanford and earlier beat No. 2 Georgia.They will face Ann Valentine's Cougar squad at 4 p.m. in a regular dual match format.

At the top of the Gators singles ladder is their brilliant freshman from Wayne, Penn., No. 1-ranked Lisa Raymond. Other ranked players are Andrea Farley ; Holly Lloyd ; Kay Louthian, a transfer from Cal, ; Jill Brenner ; and Erika Kuttler . In doubles, Lloyd and Louthian are ranked fourteenth.

The Cougars will also host Weber State Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and Central Region rival Oklahoma State Saturday at 4 p.m.

Spectators are welcome and admission is free.
