MADER WINS SUPER GIANT SLALOM

Austria's Gunther Mader won's Sunday's World Cup super giant slalom with a time of 1 minute, 22.46 seconds. Kjetil Andre Aamodt of Norway finished second in 1:22.49 and Marc Girardelli of Luxembourg was third in 1:23.07.

And in Vail, Colo., Merete Fjeldavli became the first Norwegian woman to win a World Cup race when she took Sunday's super giant slalom with a time of 1 minute, 37.95 seconds. Petra Kronberger of Austria was second in 1:38.15 and Carole Merle of France was third in 1:38.21.
