CAPTION ONLY: HONORING THE VICTIMS

Vuk Draskovio, leader of the Serbian Renewal Movement, lights a candle during a memorial service at a Belgrade church Monday for victims of political and ethnic violence in Yugoslavia. The movement is Serbia's main opposition party. Outside the church, about 50,000 people massed to denounce President Slobodan Milosevic for the long war over Croatia's succession from Yugoslavia and the crumbling economy. They defied a government warning that the rally could bring a repeat of violence that erupted a year ago.
