Iron County Cowboy Days is set for Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, in the historic cowtown of Parowan.
The third annual event features cowboy poets, Western exhibits, an apple-pie contest, horse and mule races, sheep shearing, music, dancing and other events at the Iron County Fairgrounds.Cowboy poet Rod McQueary of Elko, Nevada, is the headliner at 7 p.m. Friday for the celebration's evening show. The Hey Cedars Square Dance Club is on the bill at 9 p.m.
Saturday morning will be marked by a parade, followed by wagon rides, a gun show, dutch oven cook-off and a pie auction. Cowboy poet Bill Jones and the Color Country Cloggers and the Coors Cowboy Band will provide Saturday night entertainment.
Parowan is 16 miles north of Cedar City just off I-15.
