Utah County Commission
- Signed proclamations declaring April 5-11 as National County Government Week and American City Quality Week.
- After holding a public hearing, the commission voted to send a proposed text change in the county's zoning ordinance back to the Planning Commission for changes. The Planning Commission recommended that the county's zoning administrator be allowed to grant exemptions to the flood-plain requirements. Commissioners said any exemptions to flood-plain requirements should first be approved by the county engineer.
- After a public hearing, the commission voted to change the zone in Covered Bridge Canyon from RR-5 to CE-2. The new zone will better allow for year-round dwellings, which many Covered Bridge homes have become. About 66 acres of property in the canyon owned by Glen Rowland was not included in the zone change.
Nebo School Board
- Reviewed a meeting with the district's youth board, including some concerns about Nebo's citizenship policy and requests for after-school tutoring.
- Approved the authorization of $6 million in tax anticipation notes, which the district issues before it receives tax funding from both the state and county.
- Granted a request from Payson Middle School Principal Ron Jensen to receive Channel One programming in the school.
- Followed a recommendation from Superintendent Denis Poulsen that the district adopt a resolution to join the state insurance pool.
- Adjourned into executive session to discuss personnel matters and property acquisition at 7:31 p.m. and then returned to adjourn at 8:21 p.m.
