To the editor:
I do not understand why the supporters of gay and lesbian rights are always picking on the LDS Church for teaching that homosexuality is a "sin very grievous" (Gen. 8:20) and "an abomination" (Leviticus 20:13); for most Christians, whether they are LDS, Catholic or Protestant, teach the same.If I were a homosexual, I would keep very quiet about my unnatural practice, for it is not just another lifestyle, but - like alcoholism - a chronic illness, which manifests itself as a disorder of behavior.
Homosexuality and lesbianism are serious threats to public health and very costly at that. Like alcoholics, they can be cured, though it is extremely difficult.
