A 17-year-old Bountiful youth was arrested over the weekend after reportedly brandishing a rifle at another motorist on the freeway.

A Draper man, 34, told deputy sheriffs he was driving on I-15 when occupants of a truck began yelling at him and making obscene gestures. The occupants apparently threw a piece of tar and hit his vehicle, a sheriff's report states. In retaliation, the Draper man threw a handful of pennies at the truck, which then forced him off the road at 4700 South and I-215. Pushing and yelling ensued.

As the man got back into his car, he reported, the 17-year-old pulled out a rifle from his truck and aimed it at the Draper man as he pulled away, according to the Salt Lake County sheriff's report.
