A new medical clinic is being planned for Nephi.

Mark Stoddard, Central Valley Medical Center and Nephi Medical Clinic administrator, said the new facility will take advantage of monies left to the non-profit medical center by the Bailey Trust. The building, however, will cost approximately $300,000 to $750,000. "We will use $50,000 from the Bailey Trust," said Stoddard.

He said the facility would be two stories tall and would be built west of the pres-ent medical center. The medical center now in use would become part of the hospital.

"The present facility could be more efficient," said Stoddard. More patient rooms were needed. He said it was hoped the building could be started during the summer.

However, Stoddard said, the land is owned by the county. The property could be deeded to the facility or could be leased on a long-term lease.

Don Eyre Jr., Juab County attorney, suggested the commission might take advantage of the building authority already in place. The building authority was organized by the commission to help construct the new public safety building planned for the future.

Stoddard said he would contact local banking institutions and would report back to the commission on his findings.
