The University of Utah department of theater and film will host the Victory Jory Scholarship auditions for acting/directing students on Saturday, April 25.
Students from the U.'s actor training program will compete for the prize - either a cash award or a full scholarship, made possible by an endowment funded in 1983 by Jean and Jarvis Anderson, Jory's daughter and son-in-law.Theater directors and actors from the region will attend the auditions to observe the students' work and give their recommendations to faculty members, who will make the final decision.
Last year's recipient was Chris Borg, a 1991-92 Pioneer Theatre Company intern.
