Island causeway: The commission Wednesday approved change orders of $11,896 and $9,920 for engineering and consultant work on a bridge being built on the Antelope Island causeway. The change orders will provide additional geotechnical work and monitoring of compaction for the bridge pilings.Salt Lake County
Voters: County Recorder Sherrie Swensen is once again taking the voter registration program to area high schools to sign up students who will be 18 years old by Nov. 3. Registration materials will be offered during lunch hours at area high schools this spring. Last year, the county registered 2,000 new voters in the schools.

Walk-a-thon: The Exchange Club of West Valley and students from five West Valley area high schools are sponsoring a 3.2-mile walk to raise funds for the "Quarters for Kids" child abuse prevention campaign.
