SHARE COPPERVIEW TEACHER NOMINATED FOR HERO AWARD

Copperview Elementary School teacher Jacqueline Garber has been nominated for the Readers Digest 1992 American Heroes in Education Award. She was nominated by fellow educators at Copperview.

The national competition is jointly sponsored by the Reader's Digest, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Education Association, National Association of Elementary School Principals and the American Federation of Teachers.Teachers, administrators or teams of up to six educators will be awarded $5,000, with an additional $10,000 going to their schools.

Garber was nominated because of her special math programs for both students and teachers. She has taught kindergarten or first grade at Copperview for the past 12 years and also was nominated for the US WEST Outstanding Teacher recognition and the President's Award for Excellence in Math.
