The " '90s Clothing Workshop" at Utah State University's Eccles Conference Center Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25, will feature beginning sewing and serging classes as well as instructing in how to sew for business and pleasure, said Louise Young, USU Extension clothing specialist.
The three-day workshop begins with a general session and fashion show on "Image and Dressing For Your Body Proportions" from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.All-day and half-day classes follow on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Class topics include beginning sewing; beginning serging; advanced serging; computer patterns and redesigning; home sewing for pleasure; sewing for business; computer body analysis; a potpourri of what's new in sewing; plus sizes in fashion; pattern fitting; speed tailoring and pants fitting.
The sewing conference ends Saturday with a general session presentation by Kathy Hansen, of New Image Corp., and Louise Young, fashion instructor. They will cover topics on wardrobe tricks, color and accessorizing.
Class size is limited and enrollment is through registration on a first-come basis. Participants may register for the full workshop for $35 or may attend Friday for $30, or pay $30 for one all-day or two half-day classes. Classes for one half-day are $15.
