Michael Ray Ashby, 51, died on the Arizona Strip, south of St. George, Utah.
He was born August 11, 1940 in Los Angeles, California to Ray Williams and Mary Davis Ashby. He married Claudia Evans November 23, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada; their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.He was reared by his mother and stepfather, Donald Bolliger and had lived in Los Angeles, California, Indiana and Salt Lake City, where he graduated from Jordan High School, before moving to St. George in 1972. There, he was employed by the Spectrum as a printer. He also had been employed as a real estate salesman and for the past few years, owned and operated Gabby Repair Service. He was a member of the LDS Church, and had taught Sunday School and Primary, served in the Elders Quorum presidency, and on the Activities Committee.
He enjoyed cooking and loved his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia of St. George; two sons and two daughters, Bret Ashby of Bountiful; Blair Ashby of Bloomington; Mrs. Ken "Lori" Buckner of West Jordan; and Lisa Ashby of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren; and his mother, Mary Bolliger of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bloomington 4th Ward Chapel, 3519 Manzanita Road. Friends may call at Metcalf Mortuary, Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the Bloomington Chapel on Tuesday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Interment, in the St. George City Cemetery.
