Despite attempts to fight his suspension in U.S. courts, IAAF general secretary Istvan Gyulai said there is no way Butch Reynolds will compete in the Summer Olympics.

Gyulai also said the United States risks having all of its 400-meter runners banned from Barcelona if Reynolds competes in the next week's U.S. Olympic trials. Reynolds, who set the world record of 43.29 seconds in 1988, was banned for two years by the IAAF in 1990 after testing positive for an anabolic steroid at a meet in Monte Carlo.NationallyESPN nixes Hawaii football broadcastsHONOLULU - Don't expect to see the University of Hawaii football team on national television this year.

ESPN said Monday it won't show any UH games this year, but declined to give a reason why.

The network didn't say if Hawaii's 4-7-1 record, or its ratings, were the reason the team was kept off the air.

Spokesman Mike Soltys says the 'Bows could be added to the schedule if they get off to a good start, "say 6-0 or something."

Coach Bob Wagner says he's perplexed by the network's decision, since he expects the `Bows to be a "very exciting team."

The lack of exposure may cost UH as much as $90,000 in additional revenue, and may cost other Western Athletic Conference teams money as well, since all league schools share in television revenues.
