Maurice W. Bryan died June 9, 1992.

He was born January 30, 1903 in Erda, Utah to Fred and Dora Woods Bryan. Married Ruth Gordon December 16, 1926; she died Sept. 30, 1959. Married Mary Kletting Christensen July 21, 1962; she died Dec. 13, 1973. Married Peggy Rogers Bott July 16, 1979. Retired from Utah Power and Light Co. January 1, 1968 after 44 years of service. He started as a meter reader and collector for 15 years, 34 years as manager of Tooele district, and credit manager of South Salt Lake for five years. Won the Edison Electric Valor award medal for preventing long time power outages under hazardous weather conditions.He was a devoted civic and church worker; past president and secretary-treasurer of the Tooele Lion's Club, charter member of the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce, secretary-treasurer of the Tooele County U.S.O. Chapter, and secretary-treasurer of the Triangle Club. Originated the annual Christmas Community Tree and street light decorations for Tooele and Grantsville. Was an avid sports fan, tennis player, traveler, and bowler. Won high school and Tooele City tennis tournaments several times. Bowled regularly to age 89.

He was a High Priest in Tooele 4th Ward, ward and stake financial clerk, finance chairman for Tooele Boy Scout Council for many years. On his 80th birthday, he was written up in Dan Valentine, Jr.'s column. Dan acknowledged him for his outstanding volunteer work. He was selected as the colunteer of the year for 1985 for State of Utah by Utah Hospital Association and the Association of Utah Hospital Auxilaries. Spent 23 years operating the service elevator at Holy Cross Hospital. He had 10,000 volunteer hours and he was the only male volunteer to acheive the recognition of being a life member of the Utah Hospital Association.

Survived by wife, "Peg", Salt Lake City; sister, Dora McKendrick, Tooele; stepdaughter, Carol Roberts, Salt Lake City; Mary Esther Condie, Salt Lake City; stepson, Robert K. Christensen, Vancouver, Wash.; eight step-grandchildren; two great step-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Keith.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 1992, 12 noon at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South. Friends of the family may visit Thursday, June 11, between 7-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Evans & Early Mortuary.
