Commencement ceremonies Tuesday evening graduated the 394 students in the 36th class of Bountiful High School.
The ceremony was held in the Regional Center in North Salt Lake. In what has become a tradition, Bountiful High holds a non-traditional graduation exercise.Instead of student or other speakers, six members of the Class of 1992 read personal essays keyed to the class motto in a Reader's Theatre presentation: Jon Barlow, Marshall Jones, Mike Nebeker, Sharise Russon, Elizabeth Mabey and Cecily Huefner.
The class was presented to school board member Dan Eastman by principal Phil Homer. Eastman, whose daughter Maegen is a member of the graduating class, handed out the diplomas.
Music faculty member Rod Davis played the processional and recessional, with Molly Mercer giving the invocation and Richard Blake the benediction.
Bountiful's baccalaureate service was Thursday in the school auditorium, with Rep. Kim Burninghan, R-Bountiful, a former Bountiful High teacher, as the guest speaker.
