The Utah Air National Guard's 151st Air Refueling Group will receive the Air Force Supply Effectiveness Award for 1991 during a Wednesday ceremony.
The refueling group operates a fleet of 10 KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft at the Guard base on the east side of the Salt Lake International Airport. A section of the 151st also won the American Petroleum Institute Award for the best fuels unit in the National Guard for 1991.Group Commander Gordon Hill and Utah's Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. John L. Matthews, will be joined during the Wednesday ceremony by Secretary of the Air Force Donald Rice, and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Merrill McPeak, National Guard Director Lt. Gen. John Conaway and other dignitaries.
"This is another indication of the high level of achievement which has become the standard of the Utah Air National Guard," said Hill."This award is a tribute to the men and women of our unit, and they should be proud that their achievements have been recognized on a national level."
