Marilyn Lyons, an associate professor of nursing at Brigham Young University, was recently elected director of education for the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.

The association, a part of the World Federation of Neuroscience Nurses, has 3,500 members, nurses who care for people suffering from neurological or neurosurgical ailments.A registered nurse, Lyons received her master's degree in nursing in biophysical pathology from New York University and her doctorate in nursing science with a clinical emphasis in neuroscience from Rush University in Chicago.

Lyons has worked in neurological intensive care with both hospitalized patients and outpatients. She has also served as director of the neurological master's degree program and associate dean for the graduate nurses program at BYU.
